It will set you back about 5k, but its a completely new engine with Magnum R/T heads and 420 ft lbs. You could even go for a 390 HP Magnum crate engine from Mopar Performance. A 350 HP small block is not that hard to build and make reliable and will certainly be cheaper. I have a 3.9L V6 Magnum stock rated at 175Hp & 220Tq & getting about 17 mpg. The 4BT or 6BT is a good swap but expensive. The 6BT is the cominly found inline 6 cylinder 5.9L & the late 6.7L. ![]() The 4BT engines have the same pistons, connecting rods, valve train components, and injectors as their 6BT counterparts. Many have reported getting as much as 25-35 mpg. The 4BT today is also popular as a conversion engine among many light-duty pickup trucks that were originally equipped with gasoline engines. ![]() The 3.9L is about 750Ib wet, & had 130Hp, & 355Tq.īoth engines are cominly found in many step van applications such as frito lay, & bread trucks.
